UPDATE

9-24-09

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We want you to be aware of our policy this year with the H1N1 flu.  If your child has a temperature of 100.4 degrees or above with or without flu-like symptoms (fever, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea or chills) you will be asked to keep them home from school.  If your child is at school and becomes ill with the flu or flu-like symptoms with a fever, you will be asked to pick them up immediately.  Parents will be asked to keep their children home until they are fever free for 24 hrs without fever reducing medication. Please contact your child’s physician’s office to make them aware of your child’s symptoms and voice any concerns you may have. **PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOUR CHILD MUST BE SEEN BY A DOCTOR**

If you should have any concerns regarding the policy please contact your school nurse or myself and we will be happy to help explain any questions that you may have.  Please remember that we are only trying to keep your children healthy and safe. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter and we will update you as new developments arise, which can also be found on the public schools web page, www.napsk12.org.

Sincerely,

Jodi Barbeau, RN
