Adult Basic Education Teacher Literacy/Math

  • Use College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education

  • Complete professional development as directed and attend staff meetings.

Description:  This position is responsible for the planning, instructing, and assessment of progress for students enrolled in the Northern Berkshire Adult Education Program. The Instructor will provide multiple access points and opportunities for engagement and will work with the Director of Adult Basic Education to discuss lesson plans, student progress and assessment.

Will work for 2.5 hours per day for 2 day per week, not to exceed 266 hours for the 32 weeks.

Salary: $30 per hour stipend

Anticipated start date: September 5, 2023

Physical Requirements:         The position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs and step stool whenever necessary.  Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling of objects.  The position requires lifting objects of 20 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 20 pounds occasionally.  There is a frequent requirement of fine manipulation associated with the required use of a computer, typewriter, keyboard, calculator, and other business machines.
