ESOL Consultant

Location: Drury High School/Remote


  • Experience designing and providing PD to ESOL instructors

  • Experience in designing ESOL units/lessons

  • Knowledge of the MELPS

Description:   The ESOL Consultant will oversee the alignment of curriculum to the standards and provide coaching to teachers on best instructional practices. The consultant will connect families to the ESOL Student Advisor. In addition, the consultant will provide professional development based on the ABE Director's recommendations. This position is for the school year only.

Hours per day: 2                Days per week: 1 (32 weeks)

Salary: $3, 200 stipend

Anticipated start date: Upon appointment

Physical Requirements:         The position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting and climbing stairs and step stool whenever necessary.  Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling of objects.  The position requires lifting objects of 20 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 20 pounds occasionally.  There is a frequent requirement of fine manipulation associated with the required use of a computer, typewriter, keyboard, calculator, and other business machines.
