Description
Filling in for district van drivers on an as needed basis, transporting special education students from their residences to their respective schools and back home.

This is a great position for someone with school aged children looking for part time work or a retired individual looking to supplement their income.

Job Goal: To provide a safe transportation experience for the schools’ students.

Supervision: Reports to the Director of Student Support Services.


Performance Responsibilities:

1. Maintains orderly student conduct while transportation the students.
2. Maintains an orderly and safe transportation environment, and reports any student misconduct to the Building Principal and the Director of Student Support Services.
3. Participates in training as needed.
4. Attends related workshops and meetings as requested.
5. Assists with the supervision of students during emergency van drills.
6. Any other duties as may be assigned by Administration.

Requirements
7D Pupil license required. Must be available to drive when called.

Physical Requirements: The position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting and climbing steps whenever necessary. Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling of objects. The position requires lifting objects of 20 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 20 pounds occasionally.

Environmental Conditions: The occupant is required to work indoors and outdoors. Extreme temperature and weather conditions may be encountered such as snow, wind, rain, and ice.
