NORTHERN BERKSHIRE ADULT EDUCATION AND INTEGRITUS HEALTHCARE ANNOUNCE FREE CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) COURSE
North Adams, MA — Northern Berkshire Adult Education (NBAE) and Integritus Healthcare announce a new partnership to offer a free, Massachuetts Department of Public Health–approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course through the Integritus Healthcare Nursing Assistant Program. This 10-week, 92-hour program is the first MassSTEP CNA program offered in the Berkshires.
Program overview:
Course: Integritus Healthcare Nursing Assistant Program
Length: 10 weeks, 92 hours (Department of Public Health, DPH-approved)
Format: Blended learning with a collaborative team approach — students complete coursework remotely and participate in in-person clinical learning. Instruction begins with weekly skills labs and culminates in a full week of clinical training.
The program prepares students to pass the Massachusetts CNA certification exam, with NBAE and Integritus Healthcare supporting students in registering for and completing the exam. NBAE will provide an instructor and tutors to assist students with remote coursework. Job search and placement support are embedded in the program to help graduates enter the workforce. Additional supports are included to help students pursue academic advancement, including GED/HiSET attainment.
The CNA course is an offering under the Massachusetts Skills Training and Education Programs (MassSTEP) — an initiative of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Public Adult Education of Massachusetts program. MassSTEP programs provide concurrent adult education, workforce preparation activities, and workforce training that support adult learners in earning industry-recognized credentials.
To enroll, contact Kate Merrigan, Program Director at 413-412-1118. Space is limited, so call today to join the cohort of students. Priority placement is given to students seeking a high school credential but other applicants will be considered. Participants must be at least 16 years of age, and not currently enrolled in a high school educational program.
