14th Annual MASS MoCA Teen Invitational

Live performances by local student groups

Featuring the art of 50 Drury Artists to be announced Monday, April 13th and a 3 song performance by members of the Drury Rock Band.
Juried by art students of Mr. Strack and Hartlage's Semester 2 courses. Semester 2 art students' top three favorite pieces were:
1. Keira Martin's "Untitled" Painting
2. Ian Brule's "Jar Jar Jar" Ceramic Lidded Object
3. Ella Morgan's Collaged "Self-Portrait."
Special shoutout to Drury students, Anna Bond, for creating the painting of the MoCA Clocktower center image featured in the traditionally analogue printed posters for the event, and Cleo Welch, who mixed the colors used in the printed poster. Anna is currently enrolled in a new artist mentorship program at MASS MoCA, working with professional artists, and Cleo is interning at the Gary Lichtenstein Editions on the Mass MoCA campus. Both students are experiencing the incredible gift of learning directly from and working with professional career artists.
Mr. Strack's Ceramics students installed their own show on Tuesday, April 14th -- a unique opportunity to learn how exhibitions come to life from behind the scenes.

Located at Sheep Hill Nature Preserve and Rural Lands’ headquarters, our biennial festival celebrates New England settler heritage with time-honored crafts, local artisans, farm animals, and a focus on the region’s historic fleece and fiber industry. Fred DePaul will spin delightful stories and demonstrate traditional tools to shear sheep, while border collies from Littlebrook Farm herd sheep in complex maneuvers in the meadow. The Green Mountain Weavers and Spinners Guild will demonstrate carding, spinning, and weaving throughout the day. Meet the sheep in the barnyard. Other artists, and crafts-people will join us in celebrating the best of the Berkshires, with grilled sandwiches from Cricket Creek Farm and savory and sweet pies from Chickadee Catering. This promises to be a fun-filled event with participatory crafts, demonstrations, and toe-tapping music. Suggested donation at the gate. The annual AYJ Fund "Once Upon A Dream" children's event will be held on April 12th in the Drury High School gym starting at 12:00. Event details can be found on the flyer.
